Phaselis Princess was built in 1999 with the old method of artificial rock and 10 years later was renovated with a new method, the GFRP system. One of the first tourist facilities in Tekirova/Antalya. We were asked to design a activity pool with water park and facilities.Because of the small space in 1998, I designed a fantastic pool with 2 slide.Falling and activity pool were dissolved together, where the revolving slides are covered around with the concrete artificial rocks. When we take a look from the bottom to the empty slide of 10 m in diameter, we can see the top of a cave and when viewed from the top, we can see artificial rocks with plants are maden. The pool entered even into the space under the roof looks like cave. The covers around the cave are formed from waterfalls. We observed after 12 years because of the concretes age, problems with concrete parts, steel conc. corrosion ... We re-designed the same concept of our customers request with GFRP panels artificial rocks and implemented it.Phaselis Princess is the first project, where we changed the oldest artificial concrete reefs with the artificial rocks that we have made from GFRP panels. Insulation is not necessary anymore because of artificial rock which is made from GFRP panels.The construction will not be distorted due to light weight of artificial rock.
